Cosy Baby Happy Mommy with Giveaway

Erin Heard is the proud owner of Cosy Baby, Happy Mommy Inc., a small but growing home based business based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Like all companies, ours began as an idea. I had a 6 week old daughter who needed to be held all the time, and a very busy life to go with it. The solution? A wrap! It allowed me to carry my daughter all day and still do everything else; including housework, walks, hikes, and dancing.
I then did some research and found out about mei tai's (a traditional asian style carrier) and proceeded to make one. The mei tai as you know it now has come from a year of constant "upgrades" and changes; padded straps, padded headrest, one size body. In the same time frame, I also tried a few different designs of pouch and ring slings.

The idea of offering affordable, high quality, comfortable baby carriers blossomed and became a small company.

My daughter loved being in a carrier. It gave her the sense of comfort that she craved and she got to explore the world around her from so many vantage points.

We now have a three year old and a one year old, both girls, and both are worn daily in carriers at some point in time. The mei tai is still a huge hit, especially on those long hikes or walks through the mall. And my little one loves to curl up in the wrap and go to sleep or chill out and check out the world around her.

All of the carriers and products are handcrafted with extra attention to comfort and detail.
We were lucky enough to receive a panel wrap. Made out of 100% organic cotton. Breathable, lightweight, and great for traveling. The most versatile carrier; able to carry on back, front (facing in or out), hip, and nursing. Suitable for preemies through toddlers (2-35 lbs). One size fits all.
I love this wrap. I had a similar one when Brandon was born but this one is so absolutely soft and so gorgeous. It has a gorgeous panel on it that adds some individuality and flare to what could be a plain wrap. With so many designs to choose from there is at least one that will suit your taste. You can even get a simple plain one that both you and your partner can wear.

You can wear this wrap so many ways, on your front, back, hip, with baby facing in or out, while nursing. Its even good from Newborn to 35 lbs. This will really grow with your child. Cozy Baby Happy Mommy also carries slings, mei tais, nursing pillows, swaddling blankets, and more!
One very lucky person is going to win a panel wrap in their choice of print!

Fill Your Own with Giveaway

It all started when my husband asked for a birthday present... "I would like our household to be greener and not use disposable plastic water bottles. Can you find us some bottles that we can refill on our own?" was his request.

So I researched our options for glass, aluminum and stainless steel and presented him with the available options. We liked aspects of different bottles, but not one had everything we were hoping for. "You could do better" was his comment to me... and so I thought about it.

A week later, Fill Your Own Inc was born. We wanted practical every-day-use water bottles that were also eco-friendly, healthy and safe. We designed our bottles with our 4-year-old daughter in mind which meant quality was very important. And of course, the caps had to be leak proof. Unknowingly, our daughter tested this for us by sleeping with the prototype bottle and yes, her bed was completely dry in the morning.

We also wanted being 'green' to be fun and stylish - we added beautiful artwork to the exterior of our water bottles. Whether for kids or adults, our four different bottle sizes and three different caps are perfect for everyone. We are very proud of our bottles and want to add them to your lifestyle.

Our stainless steel water bottles -
-are from quality 18-8 grade stainless steel (#304)
-use new polypropylene, PP #5 for plastic caps
-are BPA free and phthalates free
-are 100% recyclable
-designed by local artists
-offer 3 types of leak proof caps caps: straw cap, sports spout cap and a twist cap with carabiner
-come in four convenient sizes
-are independently tested in Canada to ensure health, safety, and no leaching
-are carbon neutral and environmentally friendly

We got to try out two of Fill Your Owns bottles. A 350ml Puddle Jumper bottle for Brandon and a 500ml Puppy Power bottle. I love the designs on these bottles. They are playful and fun but no babyish so it really can grow with your child.

Kristina loved hers and wanted to use it right away. Brandon liked his as well but was a bit more patient. I loved the wide mouth and that Brandon, especially, had a straw. He felt like a big boy because it had a straw. Its like a non leaking big boy cup. The only time it leaked was when the lip was off and it was being shaken upside down. With the lid on though you could shake it as hard as you could and it wouldn't leak a drop. Its nice to know that it could roll around in the van and not leak juice all over the place.

Speaking of the lid, it was very easy to open and close. Brandon quite enjoyed opening and closing it. The only bummer is that we have tile floor and its very hard on things, like our sippy cups. They end up thrown on the floor all the time. Sadly the lid of Brandon's cup broke. This has happened many other times with many other sippy cups, so its not the cup, just our darn floor.

Fill Your Own has offered to giveaway one 750ml bottle to one winner. They will get the Green Pocket Person bottle.

OOTS

With a focus on food related necessities for babies and kids, the OOTS! products distinguish themselves from the crowd by offering refreshing, modern designs with real functionality.

The OOTS! design savvy, so far, has been applied to baby bibs, melamine dish sets, and lunch boxes. Other day-to-day products that are screaming for an edgy, original and elegant new treatment are in the works!

OOTS! was started in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2004 by Arian Roefs (Managing Director) and Godfried Konings (the Designer), both originally from The Netherlands. A Dutch Design sense and no-nonsense approach are staples of this enterprising duo.

The name OOTS! is a tribute to Sjaan, Arian's mom (top right): Anytime anything surprises her, she utters this deadpan exclamation, and then continues with the business at hand.

It was with Sjaan that OOTS!' first product, the bbib, originated. Sjaan has been making clothes her whole life, and for her grandchildren she always crafted baby bibs with sleeves, made from terrycloth towels. She did this for the owners' first born as well. These sturdy, practical bibs-with-sleeves turned out to be crowd-pleasers everywhere. Friends and even strangers in restaurants were wildly enthusiastic, and so they became the inspiration for the bbibs...... and OOTS!

The lunchbox was actually on Oprahs O list! I got to try one out in blue. I got the deluxe lunchbox that comes with the containers for inside. It comes with one large container that fits perfectly in the bottom and four smaller containers, two stacked on top of two. Then there is a colored but clear lid that you have to squeeze to put on top. That's where I had a hard time. It took some playing to figure out how to get the lid on, its a tight fit. Once I knew that you had to squeeze it though it works great.

There is an elastic strap that covers the top of the lunchbox and you can put one of your water bottles under if you want! This lunchbox is great for kids and is nice enough and modern looking enough for me to use myself.

All materials used are food safe and kid-friendly: made from BPA-free and phthalate-free polypropylene and safety tested for lead. The lunch box and containers are dishwasher safe (top rack) and the containers can be used in a microwave.

OOTS has offered my readers a 30% off discount code! That's a lot! Use code oots30 to get 30% off any of their dish sets of bbibs

Kama soap with Giveaway

Kama Soap set out in 1997 to produce a soap that was superior to any others they could find. Many people agree that they have accomplished this!

Kama Soaps has combined different plant oils, in the proper ratio, to create a moisturising lathering bar that doesn't melt into the soap dish. They use different herbs and grains for color and texture and lots of essential oils so you are not left wondering what kind it is.

Of course all of her soaps are made in small batches to ensure high quality and to maintain consistency.

All of the soap is made in beautiful Salt Spring Island in BC Canada!!!

We were lucky enough to receive a 100 gram bar of her baby soap. Honestly I have been using this soap on myself! I know I know but it smells so good and I just knew it would be good for my eczema. It lathers up great and doesn't dry out my skin at all.

I am sure Brandon will get a shot at using this soap too but right now I am all over it. If you want to try out some of this soap for your kids, or you then read on!

One lucky winner is going to win 5 bars of baby soap from Kama Soap!

pediped shoes

pediped™ footwear was created in 2004 by Angela and Brian Edgeworth. After their first daughter Caroline was born, Angela started to do a lot of thinking about footwear and the kind of shoes that would be best for her child. She wanted a shoe that was comfortable, stylish and could be worn both indoors and out. Most importantly, she wanted a shoe that was healthy for her daughter’s feet.

After doing a lot of research, Angela discovered that doctors recommended barefoot walking or soft leather sole shoes, but the choices for infants and toddlers were limited. That is when Angela and her husband Brian decided to create the perfect shoe which was “the next best thing to bare feet”.

Today, pediped™ uses the latest technology, plus the highest quality materials and craftsmanship to create shoes for children that are designed to care for their feet from crawling, to those amazing first steps and into the toddler years. The philosophy of pediped™ has always been Comfort, Quality and Style, which is why pediped™ was one of the first children’s shoe companies the American Podiatric Medical Association awarded their Seal of Acceptance for promoting healthy foot development.

The Originals™ line for pre-walkers is designed to most closely mimic barefoot walking and the natural foot shape of a child. The Flex™ line combines everything she wanted for her daughters when looking for a rubber soled shoe; high quality, fine leather and a soft flexible rubber sole.

The name pediped™ came from a doctor friend of Angela’s while her daughter was wear testing shoes. Pedi is for pediatrician and ped is Latin for foot.

The company believes in creating shoes that are healthy for children’s feet, being corporately responsible and giving back to the community.

We were sent a Flex shoe in Kyle in navy and orange. They are gorgeous shoes! You can see the quality in them right away. They are not to heavy, but are a solid shoe. The size was bang on and these are just great shoes! They even have matching hair clips by No Slippy Hair Clippy!
With so many great choice for your childs footwear, you are sure to find a pair you love, if not 4 or 5!

Kidorable with Giveaway

Kidorable really is adorable stuff for kids. They have umbrellas, rain coats and boots, scarfs, mittens, backpacks, towels, bookends, and so much more!

In 1997, Kidorable sprung from the minds, hearts and efficiency apartment of Liping and Jonathan Domsky. They proclaimed, "The world needs someone to create children's apparel and accessories that are both functional and fun. We can do that."

And so Kidorable was conceived. Starting with lions and cats and bears, oh my, manifested as umbrellas and hangers, Kidorable generated enough sales during its first year to break even and plant fruitful Kidorable seeds throughout the land. The following year sales grew ten fold. Every year since, give or take, a new style and/or product line debuted. And every year, the world joyfully embraced more Kidorable delights, give or take, than the year before.

Children, it turns out, absolutely and unconditionally love Kidorable (almost as much as their parents and other children-loving grown-ups do.)
Brandon, Kristina and I love Kidorable too! We were sent an English Roses umbrella for Kristina and Pirate rain boots and a hooded towel for Brandon. Kristina loves her umbrella and asks to take it with her to school everyday. Brandon wore his boots around the house for days and now I put them outside and as soon as we head out the door he grabs them. They are very sturdy boots made with a nice thick rubber. The design is so cute, I love all of the little details on them. The hooded towel is a great size, I got the 3-6 and its huge on Brandon which is great! Its so soft and cozy, and really absorbs a lot of water. Its definitely not a thin scratchy towel like so many others I have seen. It even has two strips of Velcro on it so he can run around the house in it afterwords and it doesn't start falling off.
I would recommend Kiddorable to anyone! Do you want an umbrella of your own? You can win one umbrella of your choice here!
